Velinski - 'Christmas Is a Time For Everyone'
Review by Daniel Hoyt & Staff
"Christmas Is A Time For Everyone" is a pop rock Christmas song that really plays like the “Hallelujah Chorus” from Handel’s Messiah. It has a grand element to it. The electronic orchestra really pulls in the Panic at the Disco “High Hopes” feeling. The vocals are sung in a round, so it really feels like the chorus is singing it at times. The vocals also have a pop tone to them that is easy to relate to. In the end, a set of chimes are heard coming through the mix which really draws in that grandeur feeling.
The message of this piece is that we all have troubles and worries in our lives, so we should be mindful of everyone in this season. It can be interpreted in ways of giving alms to the poor or even as simple as just being there for your loved ones. “Christmas is a time for everyone,” is saying we should not be selfish and just think of ourselves, but remember those around us. This may also be interpreted as setting aside our differences in humanity as a whole.
