The Lee Boys - 'Joy to the World'

Review Written by Ionas Finser & Staff

The Lee Boys’ “Joy To The World” gets rolling with an energetic guitar intro supported by equally lively drums. The instantly recognizable holiday theme is introduced in the lead guitar’s melody, setting the stage for the first line of lyrics.

The true soul that this ensemble gives off speaks directly to the heart. This song seems to just keep growing and growing, and the feelings that we have all been waiting for since last Christmas arrive in The Lee Boy's rendition. The Lee Boys do it right in this exciting, passionate ode to the most wonderful time of the year.

The lyrics cover the winter classic of the same name, and are delivered with a genuine sense of devotion and vocal expression. The voice of the lyrics is rich and pure, and blends perfectly with the fervent band supporting him. We all know the lyrics to sing along, but The Lee Boys give us a reason to snap our fingers and break out into dance around the Christmas tree.

Indeed, “Joy To The World” will leave you marching towards this year’s Christmas with a hop in your step. The Lee Boys are an intriguing combination of blues, soul, gospel, and funk, and this comes out in their newest holiday hit. I for one will be playing this song on repeat as the snow starts falling this year.
