“Humanity” is an Alternative/Pop Rock song produced by Stuart Epps. Epps has worked with artists including Elton John and George Harrison. The song has this fantastic 70's glam rock sound reminiscent of David Bowie or Elton John; however, Radio Drive's sound is mixed with a contemporary feel. In the intro, and a few times throughout the song, an electronic beat and claps can be heard, which pulls in a unique style over influences from the past. Another notable section of the song is the clear Beatles influence that was brought in. The “All You Need is Love” section really ties this song together and spreads the message brilliantly.
The message of this song is “love and hope and unity, that’s what makes humanity.” This is a song is about world peace. It was inspired by songs like “All You Need is Love” by the Beatles, and the united effort of Live Aid. Kevin Gullickson, writer of “Humanity”, wanted to create a song of his own to spread peace to people all around the world. The song calls for people to no longer be divided by their differences, but be united by the similarities they share. “We’re all alike under our skin.”
Kevin's performance in the song is stellar. His vocals truly connect every lyric as he brings to life the message he is conveying. He is a polished singer and performer who possesses a natural vocal tone that listeners of all genres will appreciate.
Kevin Gullickson has truly made his own peace anthem for the modern day, which is no wonder why a producer such as Stuart Epps would work on this track. The lyrics are brilliant, the music is like an updated version of 70s glam rock, and the message truly stands true that we are all “one family”.
