Pauline Frechette - "Winter Wonderful"

Review by Victoria Scott & Staff

Pauline Frechette's "Winter Wonderful,” is an amazing instrumental holiday song that the entire family will love. With elements of traditional and classical music, "Winter Wonderful" is dazzling.

Throughout the piece, a few classical holiday motifs come into play, such as the melody to “Deck the Halls” and later on “Jingle Bells.” The addition of these traditional melodies adds a familiar sparkle that feels like home on Christmas. The song is uplifting and merry, evoking images of walking in a Winter Wonderland.

This song was arranged by David Campbell, and features Pauline Frechette on piano, Joel Pargman and Kerenza Peacock on violins, Thomas Lea on viola, Dane Little on cello and David R. Stone on bass. Sounding like a mini-orchestra, the phrasing and dynamics are wonderful. "Winter Wonderful" will please the most discerning ears with stellar musicianship.

In "Winter Wonderful" Pauline Frechette takes the listener on a mesmerizing musical journey using a combination of popular holiday songs and original melodies to create an instrumental holiday song that is familiar and fresh. With stunning musicianship and a genius arrangement, "Winter Wonderful" is a must add to anyone’s holiday playlist.

"Winter Wonderful" will be airing on National Indie Radio during the month of December.
