KC Johns - "No More Chances"
By Pat Joseph & Staff
“No More Chances” has all of the swagger of a crossover hit. With elements of modern country and classic alternative rock, this song combines the cream of several crops to create a catchy, delightful sound. The sweetness of the syncopated vocal melodies are supported by an explosively tight instrumental track produced by renowned Producer, Billy Smiley. KC Johns is confident and relaxed while delivering precise rhythmic phrasing. She maintains a vocal tone that is warm and welcoming while also being energetic and intense.
Lyrically, “No More Chances” is a song about strength. “No more hesitation, No More calculation, No more bad equations I’ll stand my ground.” Johns delivers these lyrics with a perceived smile, making them all the more believable. “He lines up the shots and pours himself some liquid courage comes over now and make a play…but all you’re gonna get is…no more chances.” The bold and assertive nature of the lyrics is perfectly matched to the song’s self-assured mood.
“No More Chances”, with its sky-high production values, gives off an overall feeling of quality and integrity. A deliberate artistic message is conveyed over slick, inspired instrumental prowess. Listeners will love the expressive dobro and ultra-punchy drum fills. Genius in the arrangement of the instrumental track is demonstrated by ever so subtly introducing more energy until the track is boiling over. A dynamic, virtuosic vocal performance is heightened by brilliant production techniques. “No More Chances” is a song that is elevated to rarified air by 360 degree exceptionalism.
