KatieBeth - 'All That Matters'
Review by Victoria Scott & Staff
“All That Matters” is a poignant and powerful country-rock song. The intro starts with dual electric guitars, one playing arpeggios and the other playing soulful leads. KatieBeth enters singing, "In faded camo greens / eyes so tired its hard to see / Boots steppin' off that plane / Breathes in home's sweet air again." KatieBeth's voice is a show-stopper; it is rare to hear an artist who has this much expression and passion in her performance. As KatieBeth sings, every note is given it's full value, both musically and lyrically. Her vocal performance is soulful and authentic. There's no-doubt that KatieBeth is an artist who does not compromise her art - she gives it her all.
The arrangement of "All That Matters" is excellent. The harmonies in the chorus blend well with the drums, bass, and guitars for a great mix. The bass, driving the rhythm section, creates an opulent sound. Throughout, the guitar solos are bluesy and tasteful. The outro showcases a fierce rock’n roll jam. "All That Matters" was written by KatieBeth and Gary Banach. The song is performed by KatieBeth, Noll Merz, Ryan Cartwright, Oscar Ramos, Matt Aho, Jack Kammien, Lee Turner, and Gary Banach. There is so much to take from every moment in this engaging song.
Country music often tells a story and this story came from a moment when KatieBeth was at the Nashville airport watching a warm reunion between a soldier and his wife. At that moment, she witnessed "all that matters" and the song was born.
"In that moment its all that matters / In that moment she's all that matters / Two long years of being away / Waiting to see his child play / That moment its all that matters."
KatieBeth gives a stunning performance in "All That Matters." Her vocals, which are from the heart, raw and authentic, along with soulful guitars and an in-the-pocket rhythm section amplify the emotional purity of the song.
When listening to "All That Matters" you are brought into a moment in time, that is perfectly captured in the song, and you can vicariously feel the emotions of the soldier and his family brought to life through music - this is what art is all about. KatieBeth has perfectly captured "all that matters."
About KatieBeth
Since 2004 KatieBeth has been rocking it out in WI, and TN. With a voice born in rock and roll and stained by whiskey, her powerful energy on stage and raw vocal talent is blazing a trail worldwide.
Every KatieBeth performance is like a musical autobiography of KatieBeth (the person). Her voice is a blend of rock and country. Her style pulls equally from her Wisconsin roots and her Tennessee years. Her lyrics tell stories of heartbreak, redemption, and hope. With every verse and chorus, KatieBeth unleashes the raw, uncensored emotion of someone who has learned life's lessons the hard way.

But behind her amazing vocal range, and beneath her "take-me-as-I-am attitude," lies an alluring vulnerability. KatieBeth is both soft and hard. She is just as willing to love as she is to kick ass. This contrast—this paradox—is who she is. And because of this, she connects with her audience.
"KatieBeth's music isn’t defined by a genre or a format. It's guts and grit. KatieBeth's music is rock that hits you in the face with heart and soul, and it has the down-to-earth story-telling sensibilities of country music. It is something different, and new. KatieBeth is in every line and in every guitar lick. Her music and the records she makes are dedicated to anyone who has a dream or wants for something more.
"Go out and get it, never give up, the only way you’ll ever achieve it is if you “Believe.” Follow your gut always, don’t bend on the things you truly believe in, always strive to be better, and in the end have faith that everything happens for a reason, it will all work out the way it is supposed to, you just have to believe.” - KatieBeth
