Eileen Carey - "Meet Me Halfway'

Music can influence, and even change, people, movements, and society. Sharing songs about peace and social justice, ultimately reminds the world of the importance of peace, fairness, love and unity. Eileen Carey's song "Meet Me Halfway" is one of the amazing songs that will be featured on BWH Music Group and World National Indie Radio (WNIR) 'Songs For Change' radio special during the month of November. “Meet Me Halfway” by the talented Eileen Carey is a country song about waking up to the people around you. The music starts with a tight rhythmic groove on the guitar by John McDuffie, as the drummer (Lynn Coulter), and bassist (Alexis Skjlarevski) set the tempo. Eileen’s powerful vocals sing the bright, catchy chorus as the band progresses rapidly through the song and the energy becomes more intense. Producer Travis Allen, Eileen, Njogrn Charles Dreyer, and ODD Harald Jensen wrote an upbeat contemporary country song about setting down our phones and talking to one another like we did before the era of social media.

We can all learn how to reconnect with each other once we put our digital devices down and meet each other halfway. “Meet Me Halfway” is about the digital world and how we should all unplug to connect on a deeper level. Eileen’s song asks people to meet her halfway to make a reliable connection without using a device. Like the song says:

“Meet me halfway / Look me in the eye / Can there be another say / We can try / Starting today right now / Meet me halfway, /Social media introverts / Narcissistic disconcerts/ Somehow, we lost the reality / Of Kindness and love and tangibility.”

Eileen Carey's artistry is passionate, eclectic and creative. The band is magnificent and Eileen has a dynamic and engaging singing style. “Meet Me Halfway” is thought-provoking and encouraging. With a thumping groove, rumbling basslines, fantastic guitar, and smooth vocals, "Meet Me Halfway" meets you all the way.

About Eileen Carey

An Ohio native who’s long lived in southern California, Carey has developed a reputation for singing songs that strip the human experience to its essentials. The lyrics she chooses display a particular genius for zeroing in on moments that give life its tension and flavor—whether it’s via her romantic fantasy “In the Air,” her sadder-but-wiser “Let It Go” or her sisterly advice to an out-of-control friend, “Bottle Your Crazy Up.” The wisdom and good humor in her songs have built Carey a large and growing audience from Los Angeles to Nashville and earned her near-permanent residence on the New Music Weekly charts.
