Bran L - "I Don’t Know"

Review by Patrick Joseph

“I don’t know” is a smooth and reflective hip hop jam with swagger and unique identity. Interesting flows from Bran L and E Man compliment a catchy hook perfectly. A rough edge and a deeply emotional tone carry this song that will have you bobbing your head and closely listening to lyrical developments. This is music sits that grabs your attention and tells you a story.

Lyrically, “I don’t know” is determined, raw and honest.

“I ain't doin’ it for the money I’m doing it for myself, I pick up on the haters, stack em on the shelf.”

Bran L elaborates on themes of self-reliance and perseverance.

“when I get out of four years of college I’m gonna start my label, this is not a fable this is a true story.”

Listeners will relate to L’s passion. Ultimately this is an uplifting piece of music.

“I don’t know” features a state-of-the-art backing track. Production values are high from start to finish, elevating the song and carving out space for each instrumental contribution. Subtle additions and subtractions to the arrangement keep this song feeling fresh underneath L’s flow. An ultra-slick guitar melody contributes depth and identity to the song while a banging chorus hypes up the energy. “I don’t know” simply doesn’t quit.
