The W.A M. Awards celebrate the year’s most outstanding independent artists from around the world in multiple genres and categories. "Best Song" and "Best Album" nominations were based on Artistry, Musicianship, Originality, Professionalism, Diversity, and Excellence. W.A.M. stands for "We Are the Music Makers.' Belle Lundon's song "My Soul to Keep'" was the 2020 W.A.M. Award Winner for Best Song in the Christian / Gospel / Inspirational music category.
A lovely piano melody under a bombing gospel progression fills the room in Belle Lundon’s song “My Soul to Keep.” As the song progresses, the vocals double with a vibrant echo. The vocals rise over the beat as an angelic choir begins to sing the chorus. The arrangement is full of excellent R & B rhythmic sensibilities as it opens up during the bridge allowing Belle to vocalize freely.
“My Soul to Keep” is about rising above the pain and asking for repentance. There are times when we must move out of our way to move forward in life. Belle exclaims, with agony, for God to rescue her from her enemies and guide her back home. The grand instrumentation, booming choir, and flawless vocals by Belle will lift your soul.
As the Belle glorifies in joyous voice:
“Lord save my soul, take control
And save me from the enemy
Who wants my soul my soul to keep
I lost a part of me, it’s left me feeling empty
I’m tryna find my way home
But I’m not sure which way to go.”
