Abijah - 'Global Wilderness'

Review by Reagan March & Staff

During such a difficult time in society as a whole, Abijah’s new single, “Global Wilderness”, addresses several societal issues occurring in modern time. The unique, upbeat, cultural sound is a great contrast to the expression of his message in this song. As the song intensifies, the backing vocals add texture to the piece and the passion in the song is evident and allows listeners to feel the emotion Abijah aims to express.

Abijah’s unique vocals grant an original sound that listeners will love. The occasional grit and rasp to his voice adds passion to the piece. The message of his song becomes quite clear even just from the beginning phrases such as, The hearts of man have gone cold, who’s gonna greet you, when there's no one beside you”. He addresses the cold heartedness of society right now, and the lack of humanism. Even continuing to the second verse, No one's there with a smile. Deceit and distance are in their eyes. No one is there to tell the truth. You cannot even trust the news. Imminent in destruction. Building Drones and nuclear bombs”, he expresses how cold the world has become.

The overall tone of the song sets up discussion for serious issues to be spoken about on a deeper level. “Global Wilderness” deserves a worthwhile listen to and listeners will be satisfied that they have found a true classic. The true artistry is evident in Abijah’s song considering the fact that all elements of great music have been addressed including the ability to make a change in society or even just one person. Can Abijah become the next big artist to sing for change?
