Kalina & Kiana – ‘It Had To Be You’

Kalina & Kiana are an LA-based pop duo who have traveled the world and starred in as well as written songs for television shows in both the US and Europe. The siblings discovered their harmonious synergy while they were still in car seats and now, in their 20’s, are still singing together and working diligently on creating new music. Their influences range from The Beatles to duos like Broods. One of the most recent singles, “It Had To Be You,” gives a sneak peek of what to expect from their upcoming EP ‘Say What You Want.’

“It Had To Be You” showcases Kalina & Kiana’s easy on the ears sound through catchy melodies in a radio ready mix that people will love. The production by Darryl Swann provides an upbeat, wide arrangement of piano, guitar, strings, and synths that take you on an exciting journey throughout the course of the song. The instrumentals back off as the duo enters for the first verse taking the spotlight with harmony driven phrases as their voices perfectly blend together for an indulgent sound.

Kalina & Kiana wrote “It Had To Be You” about a relationship that catches you completely off guard but you wouldn’t want to have it any other way. The verses tell the story of the relationship and how it came to be and then in the chorus they exclaim, “That it had to be you/It had to be you,” with explosive energy as the production builds back up and layers of vocals harmonize in the background leaving a long-lasting impression of the hook in your mind. The fun vibes and catchy melodies of “It Had To Be You” make this a great song to ease your way into Spring.
