Mikaela Finne – ‘Roller Coaster’
Mikaela Finne is an up and coming artist and songwriter based out of Stockhol, Sweden. Originally from Finland, Mikaela’s roots shape the music she creates today. She uses her songs and voice to help show people that they are not alone. She has been active as a solo artist since 2014. Her recent single “Roller Coaster” showcases her talent as a country/Americana musician.

As we are led in by a 6/8 2 bar count in, we are first greeted by the strumming of guitar which kicks off the start of "Roller Coaster's" arrangement. Bass and percussion join in for a bluesy sway. The instrumental introduction displays a well mixed sound giving a professional quality to her music.
After the brief intro, the energy simmers down and Mikaela enters the first verse singing, “Do you remember a time when the ride didn't go up and down/or left or right constantly and all the time/Do you remember a time when the ride didn't give you a hard time/or throw you off at the top,” showing off her raw and heartfelt vocals presenting a perfect storytelling, Americana timbre. “Roller Coaster” tells about the difficulties of everyday life as a women in society using the metaphor of a rollercoaster. As the end of the verse builds into the start of the chorus she sings, “Standin' in line for the roller coaster ride/not the slightest idea what will happen this time/Standin' in line for the roller coaster ride/wantin' to get back on it but tired of the lines.” The chorus is addictive with easy to remember lyrics and a killer melody that is sure to stick with you making “Roller Coaster” a moving music experience.
